Eco Chic Closedown.

Eco Chic and AJ will no longer be updating this site. I am so sorry.

It’s been a very long journey and I thank all those who have supported me with my work, events and networking over the last 5 years.

There have been many opportunities that I worked very hard to achieve an end eco goal, albeit there were many parts or in a business sense, business facets of the eco business model that I single handily created, nevertheless, there was only great inspiration from Dame Anita, Dale Vince, and a handful of other great pioneers cross sector, that really made me want to strive to be an Ambassador for creating a peaceful, yet business, a sensible revenue business to help the other people and businesses. I wanted only to be a small part of a huge eco cog, that was ethical, and in the main a fair trade business including music, merchandise, online portal etc of bringing better products to market. For the old reference tools you can goto my original site where the first eco magazine for UK eco was published in 2004. http:www.o2m.co.uk (oxygen and music).

I am very sorry, yet I have to admit I failed miserably! It wasn’t though without having a great memorable journey that will stay within my heart forever. My soul will carry the words of kindness and wisdom that so many people I met along my alone journey, that had ideals akin to my own.

I am certain that my eco work will no longer continue, but my spiritual holistic knowledge has lead me to a greater awareness of our beautiful world. I will continue to search for the enlightenment that has been sparked within me, and to be able to have a life that is a different path now, yet a more in-depth journey for me and my child. I hope you all find as many great eco companies to support. I am sure in my small way I helped start a memory in others hearts and minds, from large corporations to small tiny businesses. I do so very much wish you the very best on all your eco work, long may it survive. I am certain there are many more great things in store for us all.

I am going to a new journey, to search deeper understanding of the greater enlightenment that I am proud and honoured to know that exists within the real world. I hope you all stay eco and chic!
I leave you with this on an eco tip:

The history of Eco Chic as Definitive Marketing tool

Eco Chic is a term or phrase used in context to describe ethical fabulous living.

This was first used in Los Angeles as a phrase commonly used within the fashion and music industry from 2002. There was an underlying trend from the 70's pioneers to make their mark in clothes, homes, ladies makeup, to almost anything you can think of. These people have seen the 80's Baby Boom generation make the demand for Green luxury, (and the 70's pioneers have totally inspired a generation for this lifestyle, and lead the way on how to achieve this). They have made and developed items for a mainstream Eco Chic market for real price goods. Ranging from high end premier global brands, to ethical smaller gorgeous hand made, and affordable products. It includes fair trade, socially responsible, and ethically aware raw materials, or ethical foundations for people and/or planet, that are a key part of the products company ethos.

The term is now commonplace in America and the UK, and is useful in Glossy magazines to catch the attention of the conscious consumer and is a crucial part of a social "green" movement. Eco Chic is the term used by many in 2009 as a commercial tag for business that wishes to have an ethical tone.

Fashion Designer Icon, Linda Loudermilk is one of the pioneers of Luxury eco TM. http://www.lindaloudermilk.com/stamp.html

This term is used within the Eco Chic Los Angeles catwalk collections - every Spring with new collections of eco wear. London Fashion Week has also now used this term for their new collections.

Other famous American pioneers include Danny Seo, who has dedicated his work to clearing homes and people of unwanted harmful chemicals in items such as bedding, perfumes, and is a style and interior design and space Guru. He is in the definitive list of Eco Chic Gurus, listed here at:

The fashion world has made huge changes in making sure that its new collections are made from sustainable and fair trade materials. Edun is another line of ethically fabulous conscious designer wear.

Arthus Yann Bertrands latest movie "Home" that was released for World Environment Day also has many sponsors that are design and couture based that are also known as Eco Chic brands. Google "HOME the movie" which can be seen online at YOUTUBE.com. It is incredible.

The social movement is in the UK very much down to awareness of the Climate Change issue’s that affect our everyday lives. The Body Shop is a retail pioneer in this movement with the Late Dame Anita Roddick's Book, "Business As UNusual".

This inspiring Business book has many pieces on ethical living. Even though this is a market that is especially designed for women, The interest in L'Eco Homme Summer edition published by EcoChicLife, proves that this is a growing market for male readers. The mainstream press have also used this term over the last year, to the extent it is now somewhere every week in the glossies and broadsheets. In Vogue, in the UK Edition’s, there have been several high profile feature articles named Eco Chic. Another magazine, The London Magazine, (edition February 2009) has a section called Eco Chic Yummy Mummies. Here they reference the top five Eco Chic places you can find the Yummy Mummy in Chelsea, London and Knightsbridge.

The biggest reference source of Eco Chic Destinations, fashion and products to date was produced in May 2008, in the UK version of Marie Claire. http://www.marieclaire.co.uk/news/fashion/281749/marie-claire-scoops-ethical-award.html
